Very good family movie. You do not have to worry about sex, language, or violence in this movie. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
a rare charm
this movie was wonderful from start to finish.
usually i get bored during certain scenes and skip through it to an interesting part.
I didn't have to do that with this movie.
the costumes sets, the acting and casting were perfect, and the story was good and held my interest the whole way through the duration of the film.
every scene was so sweet and the emotion from the characters was overwhelming.
if ur a hopeless romantic than this movie is for u and it's unbelievably cheap for the quality of the movie.
i put this movie up there with everafter, it's so beautiful.
there's romance, intrigue, scandle, jealousy and more romance, and a surprise twist at the end that u'll never see coming.
I just love this movie. I saw it first on the Hallmark Channel when I was channel surfing, then I purchased the DVD. Each time I've watched it, I find I like it more and more. However, I would have loved to have seen more story/character development and a little more romance, perhaps even a wedding between Tyler & Jordan (reason for 4 & not 5 stars). For instance, the scene outside the barn after Tyler has turned away & ran from Jordan, he says ".. I never expected this" It's not clear at first exactly what it is he wasn't expecting. You realize later that he never expected to fall in love with her. Would be great if a sequel follows!??? More Info about this DVD Director(s): David S. North & South is a splendid, four-hour adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell's 19th century novel about an unlikely, and somewhat star-crossed, love between a middle-class young woman from England's cultivated south and an intemperate if misunderstood industrialist in a hardscrabble, northern city. Daniela Denby-Ashe plays Margaret Hale, forthright and strong-willed daughter of a former vicar (Tim Pigott-Smith) who relocates his family from a pastoral village outside London to unforgiving, largely illiterate Milton, a factory town where John Thornton (Richard Armitage) and his mother (Sinead Cusack), survivors of poverty, rule their cotton mill with an iron hand. Thornton befriends Margaret's father but incurs her wrath for his severity with his workers. What she doesn't notice is... Set in a frontier world of bonnets and one-room schoolhouses, Love's Enduring Promise follows a headstrong young teacher named Missie (January Jones, Bandits), the daughter of Clark and Marty Davis (Dale Midkiff and Katherine Heigl) from previous prairie romance Love Comes Softly. After Clark injures himself in a woodcutting accident, the family farm is in danger of failing--until a handsome young stranger (Logan Bartholomew) helps out. Missie finds herself drawn to this man, but the intelligence and graciousness of young railroad magnate (Mackenzie Austin, How to Deal) appeals to a side of her that yearns to go beyond the hills and valleys of her childhood. What could be romantic froth becomes a quiet, well-paced, and thoughtful love story, thanks to a solid... Garnet is the heroine, a young family doctor who recently lost her husband to a death-ride on a rodeo bull. She is tired of her father-in-law and other people in her picturesque town of Sweetwater, CO, being tired of HER unhappiness. Out of desperation she hires a "boyfriend" from an escort agency, and tells him to sweep her off her feet whenever they're in public to convince everyone they're seriously involved.
While the premise was appealing, the reality was a bit more mottled. Garnet, as both doctor and grieving wife, I found less than convincing. Claiming to have no interest in romance, she nevertheless behaves in an immature and needy, please-love-me-come-hither manner. She treats her long-suffering hiree with disdain, even while availing herself fully (and I do mean...
