Review(s): DVD Starsky & Hutch - The Complete Third Season
Disappointing
The show is great, but some episodes were edited, especially "Quadromania", one of the very best episodes of the series, with an amazing Richard Lynch killing cab drivers.
Disappointing. :(
Love it
I'm a big Starsky and Hutch fan, although I'm not a fanatic. I like each of the actors for their individual talents, and don't really judge the episode by it's content. The episodes are mostly thought up and directed by others different from the actors (although I do know some were directed by Paul)........so I can't blame them for unbelievable or substandard episodes. I admire and think of Paul as a great role model for the things he's stood up for in his life, and his acting ability. I also admire David for his acting ability, and wish he'd done more. I work in the medical field......I understand and almost idolize what Paul and his family have done for medical research and awareness. I love all the episodes of S&H, they are all unique in their own way -- even if the episode was not what some would call great, Paul and David's acting abilities can not be questioned. I can't wait for season 4 to finally come out on DVD.
New Generations see one of the greatest buddy cop tv series
Starsky & Hutch the Epitome of a buddy-cop tv show - one of the greatest shows ever to hit the airwaves, is now on it's third season. Paul Michael Glaser, David Soul, Antonio Fargas and Bernie Hamilton were such a great team that to have the series brought back after 30 years - it makes it for a whole new generation of people to enjoy.
I'm really glad that Columbia/Tri-Star decided to release this series as it is a great collection. The two stars directed some episodes and the exotic locations, thrilling car chases and gunfights of cop vs robbers, etc. is awesome.

Starsky & Hutch: The Complete Second Season proves the 1970s ABC series, in its sophomore year, both codified its earliest strengths while continuing to evolve into a sharper, wittier, and often darker show. Contributing to those improvements were the stars themselves: David Soul (who plays maverick police detective, intellectual, and health nut Ken Hutchinson) and Paul Michael Glaser (as Hutch's more impulsive, junk-food-junkie partner Dave Starsky), each of whom directed exemplary episodes in season 2. Series creators also struck a more entertaining balance between the comic and dramatic possibilities inherent in Starsky and Hutch's bluntly honest, fraternal relationship. A number of stories placed the guys in intentionally funny undercover situations: as garish gamblers in the... In the rough-and-tumble, wildly entertaining world of Starsky & Hutch, impatient cops--anxious to join a foot race in pursuit of a villain--throw themselves out of moving vehicles and roll to a bruising stop. Undercover detectives Dave Starsky (Paul Michael Glaser) and Ken "Hutch" Hutchinson (David Soul), hardly imbued with the powers of Spider-Man, routinely scale walls, hop from rooftop to rooftop, and fling themselves down steep hillsides to stop bad guys from doing what bad guys do.
Two years before Hill Street Blues redefined the cop genre as a mesh of overlapping storylines and workaday frustrations, Aaron Spelling's Starsky & Hutch capped a five-year run (1975-1979) portraying LA's finest as madly heroic creatures of reckless determination and physicality.... On the timeline of successful TV cop dramas, Kojak offered bold authenticity and paved the way for NYPD Blue. As immortalized by Telly Savalas, veteran detective Theo Kojak was introduced in the 1973 TV movie The Marcus-Nelson Murders (not included in this 3-disc set), a ratings hit that encouraged CBS and writer-producer Abby Mann to create a trend-setting series (based on a book by Selwyn Raab) that premiered on October 24 of that year. The Greek, bald-headed, snappily attired Kojak brought no-nonsense bravado to homicide cases in South Manhattan--a setting that lent a gritty, urban edge to intelligent plots that won the respect of real cops with an emphasis on diligent police work instead of overblown action and phony glamour. While working cases with his captain... More Info about this DVD Actor(s): Telly Savalas DVD Release Date: Released the 22 March 2005 Usually ships in 24 hours

Created and produced by TV legend Jack Webb, Emergency! delivered a double dose of medical drama and real-life action into its stories, which made it a major favorite among viewers during its '72-77 network run. The season 1 set compiles the first 11 episodes of the program, in which paramedics Gage (Randolph Mantooth) and DeSoto (Kevin Tighe) tackle crises both big and small, from plane accidents ("Crash," "Dealer's Wild") and baby deliveries ("Brushfire") to the rescue of a horse in a ditch ("Publicity Hound"). Ably assisting the men in the field are the emergency room hospital staff, led by Dr. Joe Early (Bobby Troup, the composer of "Route 66"), Dr. Kelly Brackett (Robert Fuller of Laramie), and Nurse Dixie McCall (singer Julie London); Deirdre Hall of Days of Our... Return to the Big Island for more adventure with Tom Sellecks charmingly roguish detective hero, Thomas Magnum, courtesy of this three-disc set, which compiles the entire second season (1981-1982) of Magnum, P.I.. The 22 episodes included here (among them the two-part "Memories Are Forever") crystallize the key to the series success: an appealing blend of action, drama, mystery, and comedy, cemented by Selleck and his likable castmates, especially John Hillerman, who would earn a Golden Globe for his work on Magnum in 82. Highlights of the season include Magnums attempt to stop an international assassin ("The Jororo Kill," with Tyne Daly), the arrival of Hemingway-esque author Mad Buck Gibson (Darren McGavin) in the episode of the same...
