The editing on this DVD is poor at times, with flashes of cut sections, narration and video not in time together, and an incorrect heading in one section. This DVD has helped my wife and I become better dancers. It features the teacher and his partner but then shows very average people of all ages dancing throughout the DVD. Being male, I was a little intimidated by this at first but quickly lost that feeling because of the pace and teaching techniques the instructors use. Good buy! Only drawback is that if you rewind often to watch and practice on your own, you quickly get tired of the music being played. Simply one of the best dance instruction DVDs I have. John Hill explains things clearly, from different angles, and with a good deal of easy-going all-American charisma befitting Swing.
This DVD has added a lot of nice flourishes to my current repertoire of Swing moves, and I even recently used many of John Hill's techniques that I learned from this DVD at a national ballroom DanceSport competition. These included the Alternating Rock Turns (aka Stop Turns) and Flare kicks. (I did quite well with my dance partner in the competition, most of the time earning first place finishes on our heats.)
