Review(s): DVD Jane Fonda Collection: The Complete Workout & Stress Reduction Program
Talk about flash back ;-)
Right back into the 80s here. I used to do Jane fonda when I was little with my mom. I was excited to see it on DVD to try. Unlike a lot of the newer videos I have.. I really like Jane because she tells you why you're doing what you're doing (ie. she points to the muscle groups.. tells you what they're for... how to know which weights to use).
Compared to videos today-- this ones a bit cheesy ;-) I laughed a lot. But the workout is still there-- and so is the info.
Something different...
I just did this workout for the first time and I spent a lot of time laughing! The first sight of it was the best. The 80's look! Once I got past that it wasn't too bad. Not an intense, strenuous workout by any means, but it was kind of fun to do all these "old school" exercises. Just the plain old aerobics, the grapevine & the ponies, I haven't done those in a while. The instructions are a little hard to hear with the "rockin' music". There is a separate section for arms, lower body & abs that is again, not the hardest, but better than doing nothing at all I guess! The DVD is not something I would base my whole exercise plan on, but to throw it in maybe once a month for something different won't be so bad. It was just a fun change of pace.

I think it's an amazing workout(s) for the money! I'm basically a lazy, unmotivated person I hate to admit so I love the option of just clicking on whichever day of the week it is, Monday through Sunday, and they have portions of the approximately 90 minutes of workouts edited for that day which are 35 to 46 minutes each day. They also have time crunch workouts you can do if you have less time available. They even have a 3rd option where you can program in your own workout! I'm 41, but have been working out and consider myself in intermediate shape and still am challenged with these workouts. I think this workout would be great for most beginners or intermediates, but anybody advanced would not be challenged. It does have cardio, weights, toning, and stretching/cooldowns. The choreography... More Info about this DVD Director(s): Shanda Sawyer - Charles A. Bangert DVD Release Date: Released the 28 December 2004 Usually ships in 24 hours

Kathy Smith is so upbeat, sensible, and easy to follow that if you abide by her instructions, you can't help but get a good workout. Functionally Fit: Peak Fat Burning should definitely be one of your keepers. Smith's tried-and-true workout method here combines six two-minute intense bursts of aerobic activity, spliced between recovery exercises, which include loads of lunges and squats. The pace is just right for intermediate to advanced students--the high-energy segments really fly by. The presentation is clear and very easy to follow (it helps that the moves are very simple, even when done at the maximum-intensity level). The session includes 6 minutes of warm-up (some of which is vigorous enough that total beginners should plan to take it very easy), 25 minutes of the...
