Now way in hell a guy that ugly will get Kelly Preston. I hope to God she has seen a barber since this film, yikes, looked like a forest....I would explore it though. Mr skin says this is the best nude scene in cinema history? Have you ever seen H.O.T.S. or the Crying Game, you overgrown pedaphile.
Great Movie - What great times that must have been.
Back in the 80's I had that poster on my wall and stared at Kelly Preston every day. WOW! She rocked.
On to the movie. Great film. Truly captures the 50's feel. A lost 80's film that didn't get enough respect. A good kid meeting up with a kid who lives on the edge finds the pride he needs to stand up to the world. The scenery is awesome and the story not bad too. If you've missed it, see it. Well aged and still worth the watch.
A Long Time Ago In A Place Far Away (1955 America!!!)
This would have to be one of my favourite movies set back in the 1950's. The New Guy In Town , Gene is introduced to small town life by his new friend Jonathon , played by Doug McKeon who is in love with Kelly Preston. Gene falls in love with the BEAUTIFUL Catherine Mary Stewart much to her parent's Horror. Chris Nash gives an excellent performance as a young rebel without resorting to being a James Dean clone and one wonders why we never saw much of him on the screen after making this movie. A fine cast , great acting and 1955 never looked better!!!
In the brief flower of his teen idolhood, C. Thomas Howell starred in this unexpectedly mature teen comedy. High school loser Michael (Howell) receives an unsigned love note and hopes it's from the queen of the social scene, Debbie (Kelly Preston). When Debbie brushes him off, his best friend Toni (Lori Loughlin) convinces him to send her an anonymous note of his own--only Toni, who's so in love with Michael that she wants him to be happy, rewrites his clumsy fumblings into romantic prose, and Debbie swoons. Meanwhile, the first note has fallen into other hands, setting off misguided passion among the kids' parents. Secret Admirer could have been familiar fluff, but the plot keeps taking unexpected turns, tweaking the clichés of the teen genre with a dose of reality.... Neve Campbell is an arresting enigma in When Will I Be Loved, one of writer-director James Toback's most mysterious and successful minimalist dramas about sex, deception, and mutable identities in New York City. Campbell plays twentysomething beauty Vera, whose nude shower scene during the film's opening credits looks more like mythic preparation for a soon-to-be-fateful day than brazen exploitation. Ensconced in a fantastic loft paid for by her parents (Barry Primus, Karen Allen), the unemployed Vera embarks on an odyssey that begins with a mutually deceitful job interview with a college professor (Toback), leads to misadventures in questionable perception in Central Park, and climaxes with Vera's successful manipulation of two powerful men, one a craven lover (Fred Weller) and... Silly & trite, but sexy and a good time. Grab the candy bowl, butter the popcorn. This is a must for any and all Teri Hatcher fans and is pretty good B-movie fare - a very decent performance from Mizz Hatcher, both in and out of clothes! Kate Beckinsale plays an art restorer. While working on her current commission, she discovers a previously hidden inscription, which points to a murder conspiracy 500 years ago. As she tries to solve the mystery, whose key lies in the paintings depiction of a chess game, people around her, connected in one way or another to the painting, begin to die. Is the past reaching out to wreak vengeance on the present? And who is the Black Queen?
I won't tell you, except to say that the answer is painfully obvious. Based on The Flanders Panel, a novel by Arturo Perez-Reverte, author of The Ninth Gate, this is a much less successful film than Roman Polanski's effort. The premise is intriguing, but the resolution is deeply disappointing. Beckinsale's character, furthermore, is so...
