I'm ready to Salsa now!
I'm a retired fellow and took up Salsa dancing because it was supposed to be the new Ballroom-what all the young ladies like to do these days. But I wanted to look like I could dance without having to put in all the years of formal training or paying for a bunch of classes. I'm a pretty quick study so this DVD was ideal for me. I'm no Fred Astaire but I think I'll handle myself pretty well on the Salsa dance floor once I get there.

I used to go for salsa classes but most of the time because of my tight schedule I had to miss. There was no point coz everybody was heading ahead of me and I felt such a goofy lacking behind. Then I decided to quit with much disappointment. A friend of mine recommended this DVD to me but I wasn't too keen about getting it. I was quite iffy and had my doubts coz learning salsa all by myself was kinnof impossible. My friend kept insisting that I should get this DVD, so eventually I ended up buying the intermediate series DVD as I had done salsa before. To my surprise it's as easy as going for classes' infarct it's much easier and better. Now I don't feel bad about missing any classes coz I can do it anytime whenever possible. I love this DVD and I've improved so much so far. I would recommend everybody to get this DVD. It's interesting!
Challenging & Fun!
Just when you get the basics down, they go and throw a doosey of a dance combo that frustrates the hell out of you 'cause you have to do it over and over (at least I did) 'til you get it to look halfway decent when you do it! Dangerously addictive!

The Salsa Series, this being Part 1 in a 5-part series on learnign this dance, the instructions are clear and direct and even two left feet will find the Salsa moves. Following the instructions that are so carefully laid out will make a dancer out of anyone.
The Salsa lessons are prefaced with a rich description of the style; positions; moves and history of this Latin dance. Viewers will be able to apply these steps to other forms of Latin dances as the Salsa is a good point of reference.
Moira Denike, a very beautiful and talented dancer provides a visual lesson in the art of Salsa with Evan. They are a good dance partnership. Finally here is a DVD that beginners can actually learn from. Gigi does a great job at teaching the steps in a very simple manner. As far as a review that was posted about how this is not a popular dance style in the US and how it's not useful that Gigi shouts out the names of the turns, I'd like to explain a little something.
Cuban salsa (also known as Casino or Rueda, when danced with multiple partners) is very popular in Miami, DC, and now up and booming in NYC. The reason why the turns are shouted out is because when danced in a cirlce with multiple partners, all the men need to be able to start the same turn at the same time...people have even devised a sort of sign language for the turns too (in case the club is too loud).

Learn to Salsa Instructional VOL. 2 is truly amazing. I enjoyed every bit of it as much as I enjoyed part 1. Salsa has always fascinated me, but learning all those moves seemed next to impossible as I am a wee bit on the heavier side. I always thought Salsa was a difficult dance, but watching and following the stepwise instructions made salsa so simple for me.
Thanks to this magnificent DVD, I never thought that I'd be doing all those groovy moves. I've learnt each and every step by heart and trust me I had no problem in learning them, it was just like a walk in the park.
