DVD Mickey Mouse Club - The Best of Britney, Justin & Christina
First, a caveat: this 88-minute nostalgic romp through Mickey Mouse Club history is not The Best of Britney, Justin & Christina, but rather a compilation of four complete MMC episodes from Season Six with only minor appearances (a few songs and hometown profiles) by the namesake superstars. While the title’s misrepresentation is disappointing (and suggests some exploitive marketing by Disney), the DVD, nonetheless, oozes with talent from the cast of all 20 mouseketeers, including lesser-known stars who were hugely popular during the show’s run (‘89-’94) such as Keri Russell, JC Chasez, and Ryan Gosling. These particular episodes were selected because they happen to include two-minute profiles of Britney Spears, who takes viewers back to her hometown in Louisiana; Justin Timberlake, as he impersonates Elvis at Graceland; and Christina Aguilera who bakes brownies and shows viewers a scrapbook of her childhood. Two live concert performances spotlight Aguilera belting, "I Have Nothing," and a song and dance routine with Spears and Timberlake singing, "I Feel for You." Other program highlights include the cheesy but engaging game show, "Everybody’s a Winner," and a hilarious series of skits with Russell. A segment on teen suicide and depression was an odd choice to include in this otherwise upbeat program. Fans can keep their fingers crossed that Disney will release each MMC season in its entirety on DVD, named accordingly. (Ages 8 to 14) --Lynn Gibson

This DVD is really great, not only you can see the best moments from Britney, Justin & Christina, but you can also enjoy some of the old episodes of the Mickey Mouse Club!
Not What I expected
This DVD is good to buy if you were a fan of the show like I was. If you are buying it to see the best of the mentioned artists at work you will be disappointed. There are four shows that only show a little of Brit, Justin and Christina at work. What you do see is a 2-3 min feature of the three in three diff episodes. Like what they do daily at their homes and for fun at that time. I'm angry also over the fact that JC Chasez isn't featured. Still it is nice to watch the show that I used to love. I only wish that they would come out with the complete show like the old one did.
Major Disappointment
I thought this DVD was going to be highlights from only them and their featured skits. I was completely disappointed to find out it was episodes involving everyone. Granted I used to watch MMC everyday so it was nice, but not when you are expecting something completely different. I don't think I saw a skit without Jimmy Fallon on his best of SNL DVD.

On a recent trip to Disneyland, I purchased a DVD with the 50th anniversay artwork on the front, thinking it was history of the park. Boy was I wrong. Do not buy the park DVD, instead wait for this one. The one currently selling at the park is nothing more than the travel video Diseny sends out as a promotional for the park. The DVD advertised as COMING SOON here is more along the lines of what I thought I was getting. Let's hope this DVD actually makes a debut sometime soon. How much longer can they hold out? I was hoping for a great collection of vintage and rare Mickey Mouse cartoons. That's not what I got. Steam Boat Willy was shown with a large black boarder surrounding the cartoon. I assume it was so the entire frame could be seen. Cartoons two and three were complete rare sound films. However the remaining cartoons were not original prints. The openings were created electronically. The cartoons were very enjoyable but don't expect a collection of all original prints. This show defines what reality TV should be....REAL. it chronicles britneys life on tour and meeting her current husband. sure she is immature at times and really goofy, but that is what makes it good. she really is a down to earth normal person with a great sense of humor. she doesn't care that she is on film and speaks what is on her mind. there is no way this could have been scripted like newleyweds.
