DVD Halloweentown High
Prejudice and acceptance clash in Halloweentown High when Marnie (Kimberly J. Brown) attempts to prove that humans and the supernatural inhabitants of Halloweentown can peacefully co-exist in the mortal world. Thanks to a slip of the tongue, Marnie's brainstorm to sponsor a high school exchange student program between Halloweentown and her own high school quickly turns into a battle to save the Cromwell family's magical powers and keep the portal between worlds open. An already arduous undertaking becomes even more difficult when the supposedly fictional Knight of the Iron Dagger starts haunting the Halloweentown exchange students right in the mortal world. In the end, it is the common mortals who, by demonstrating tolerance and a commitment to equality, possess the power to save the Cromwells' magic and the entire human world. This third movie in the Halloweentown trilogy focuses primarily on Marnie. Aggie (Debbie Reynolds), Gwen (Judith Hoag) and the other Cromwell family members are secondary characters with less prominent roles than in the previous two productions. Makeup and costuming is top rate in this Disney Channel original movie, the trolls and ogres are not too scary, and bonus games and activities are plentiful. (Ages 5 and older) --Tami Horiuchi
Latest Chapter Of All Time Greatest Movie Series !
I can't get enough of Halloweetown and it's inhabitants. It was fun to see how the young stars of the first film have grown up, though not quite a shock with Kimberly J. Brown. I've been a fan of hers for years. But onto the review. HH is an awesome movie, though I wish that they would've actually gone to Halloweentown in it. It was fun seeing Marnie in school. The problems that she faced trying to keep her friends from finding out about her and her friends from Halloweentown were hilarious. Marnie's powers are tremendously more advanced in Halloweentown High than they were in the other two movies, though her spells don't always have the desired effect most of the time. She tries to make a magical set of rooms in her house but ends up shrinking the house instead. A skeleton is attacking someone and Marnie tries the spell that her grandmother uses to make something go away but ends up only making the skeleton several times larger. There were only two things that I didn't like about the movie. One, there was no commentary track by the cast, and two, the audio is 5.1 surround sound. If you don't have a surround sound system, the sound will be compressed which can make the volume get a bit softer in places. I don't have a 5.1 system yet, but I'm hoping. If you're any kind of fan of Halloween or Kimberly J. Brown, get this movie, along with the first two and enjoy the holidays !
Halloweentown High
Wow do i remember watching the first one back in 98! I was a 9 years old back then. It was a good movie to watch. Good clean fun and nothing with bad words. The adventures of Halloween could never be this fun. It has all the cool things in it. Monsters, witches and all types of things for children. Even though now i'm 16 i still watch all the Halloweentown movies. I hope they make a 4th one. I think parents and younger children should watch all of the movies.
My daughter and I love this movie!!!!
My daughter, age 7, and I love this movie. For the past couple of years, we couldn't wait until Halloween so that we could watch the Halloweetown movies on Disney. We watched them over and over; therefore when they became available to purchase, we were very excited. These are good, clean, fun Halloween movies. We highly recommend them.
This big, fat theatrical bomb has a lot going for it. There's the three leads, Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker, playing three resurrected witches who wreak havoc on Salem, Massachusetts, 300 hundred years after they were hung. There's music, special effects, and magic. There's a surprisingly horror-filled plot. Whoops, hold up on that last one. It's probably the extremes that this film goes to (displaying a Disney label), such as the witches sucking the life out of a little girl in the first five minutes, that put the brakes on any success for Hocus Pocus. Older children, however, in the 8 and up range should get a kick out of all the weird goings-on. It's a good measure of Halloween thrills and chills. --Keith SimantonMore Info about this DVD Director(s): Kenny Ortega DVD Release Date: Released the 04 June 2002 Usually ships in 24 hours

In a place called Halloweentown, good and evil look very different than one might expect. Thanks to a visit from Grandmother Aggie (Debbie Reynolds), Marnie (Kimberly J. Brown) and her family's tradition of ignoring the Halloween holiday are about to change in the extreme. It seems that Marnie's mother Gwen (Judith Hoag) has been hiding a big secret from her three children--all of them possess supernatural powers. Now that it's Marnie's thirteenth birthday, she must begin her training as a witch or lose her powers forever. While Gwen wants nothing more than to see her children grow up as "normal" humans, Grandmother Aggie and Marnie have other ideas. A brewing crisis between good and evil in the alternate world Halloweentown soon pulls the entire family through a portal and into an... Based on Jill Murphy's book, this charming movie is set in an English boarding school for witches--complete with orange and black school uniforms, broom-flying exercises, and potion assignments for lab. The incompetent student of the title, Mildred, is played by a fetching young Fairuza Balk. Diana Rigg is the nasty head teacher, Tim Curry the (oddly) idolized Grand Wizard, and TV's Facts of Life maven Charlotte Rae does double duty as the school's kindly dean and her evil witch twin, who's bent on taking over the school. Directed by Robert Young, this 68-minute video features less than state-of-the-art effects and several songs that stop the action--most bizarrely an outdoor assembly performance by Curry that turns into a weird music video. Still, preteen girls will... More Info about this DVD Director(s): Robert Young (III) DVD Release Date: Released the 24 August 2004 Usually ships in 24 hours

Presented by the producers of Private Benjamin, Cadet Kelly is the story of a young teenage girl's dilemma when her life of free-spirited creativity and unmasked familial love collides with a world of extreme military discipline and reserve. Kelly Collins, played by Hilary Duff, is a happy student at New York Middle School of the Arts whose whole world changes dramatically when her mother marries an army captain who's just been promoted to Commandant at George Washington Military Academy. Thrust into a rigid world of obedience that frowns upon creativity and individuality, Kelly manages to make one close friend, but clashes with Cadet Captain Stone (Christy Carlson Romano) and is eventually court-martialed.
