MTV's reality series about the joys and challenges of juggling a relationship with rising celebrity kicks into a higher gear in seasons 2 and 3 now that Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey have a year of marriage under their belts. With both of them--separately and together--in heavy demand in Atlantic City, at photo shoots, surf meets, parades, football games, movie auditions, television and radio shows, and more, the couple have a hard time finding energy to be together. In the 20 episodes included in the Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica: The Complete Second and Third Seasons boxed set, there are several instances in which the pair go to some lengths to find private time: attending the Kentucky Derby, traveling to be with family over Christmas holidays, and taking a skiing trip that doesn't work out so well for poor Nick.
Meanwhile, Nick and Jessica have to contend with aggressive paparazzi and fans, exhausting hours under hot lights, Jessica's pushy father-manager, and interpersonal conflicts when Jessica's best friend (and personal assistant) moves in with the couple. Compensating for all those trying times, however, is the duo's obvious devotion to one another, made clear through several elaborate, celebratory gestures each makes toward the other. Even if one doesn't find either Nick or Jessica to be particularly stimulating company, or find the process of turning somewhat talented people into larger-than-life celebrities to be interesting, the fly-on-the-wall documentary approach of Newlyweds quickly becomes irresistible to the voyeur in everyone. --Tom Keogh

I gotta say that I loved this show. Not only did it perfectly showcase Jessica Simpson as a marketer's dream machine because of her airheady comments, but it proved that reality TV is where it's at these days. Every episode here is a testament to Simpson's surprising mass appeal, from the hilarious Simpson commentary we've all come to love or the outrageously entertaining "baby" rumors. Still, it's sad to think that this show is what made Simpson an A-lister...nevertheless, MTV's Newlyweds is IT!!

Dear jessica and nick, I would like to start off by telling "ya'll" you have such GREAT attitudes! Many cut you down, well that's not the case today! Your dvd is so real, and honest. This wasn't like it was suppose to be real serious, it was suppose to be fun! Ya'll accomplished that! To the girl that called jess DROP DEAD GORGEOUS, she is. People who say nick can't sing or need's plastic surgery, need a life! People that say jess can't sing,need a hearing aid. She's one of the best out there PEOPLE! Nick you are so sweet, and your voice is gorgeous to! Quit being mean cause their a beautiful, and beyond talented couple! This dvd rock's! Go out and get it already, if you don't have it! Season one is GREAT to! Smooches, christy.

I own all the seasons of Newlyweds and they're all equally enjoyable. If you liked the first set of DVD's you'll enjoy the 2nd set as well.

When their farting in bed, leaving messes, bad morning breath, terrible cooking, and even their stupidity is still cute. Then come the days of all the bad stuff, where you want nothing more than to go to a cave to escape the nagging messy waste of time you married. You want to lay in that cave till a bear comes in, finds you and eats your inners in a few simple chomps....
So, as good as this show is at showing the good times, it just makes me angry because I know what the net few years have in store.

Their lives are almost too perfect to be real: good looks, houses by the beach, even close relationships with their parents.
