Steamy fun - perfect popcorn film!

Silly & trite, but sexy and a good time. Grab the candy bowl, butter the popcorn. This is a must for any and all Teri Hatcher fans and is pretty good B-movie fare - a very decent performance from Mizz Hatcher, both in and out of clothes!

    What Were They Thinking?

Man, I don't know what the other reviewers of this movie were smoking, but it should be illegal! This is, first off, a terrible DVD: 4:3 (full screen) format, with a dark, muddy picture. Worse, the plot is typical, predictable, and poorly written. Other than looking for glimpses of Teri Hatcher's body, sitting through this fiasco is a total bore. I was also surprised at how bad Teri's acting was in this movie, since I've seen her do much better in things she was in previous to this. That is probably the fault of the director, Erik Anjou, a third-rate director (at best!) who has done a total of two movies and one documentary. Gee, I wonder why he isn't in more demand (NOT!)!

I can enjoy "B" movies, and bad movies, but this one is just so totally non-involving that it is not even good enough to laugh at. I can't imagine that this mess was released on DVD for any reason other than to cash in on Teri Hatcher's current popularity, and to suck the cash out of people who are anxious to see a younger (29 year-old) Teri Hatcher nude.

Rent this, if you must, but, wow, there is no reason anyone should want to buy a movie this bad.

    she is a cool surface

Recently Teri Hatcher has been more than happy to say that she wouldn't turn down a Playboy photo shoot if it came her way. Yes and there are many hot blooded males out there who would love to see the delightful desperate housewife with nothing on, not even an apron. However, as always, there's usually a price to be paid for such a amazing sight and in Teri's case it's a $10 million pay cheque that she would like. Yikes.
No worry - here with this movie anyone can now gaze at Teri. In the flesh. In the nude. On exhibit. Blah blah. Once you get past the fact that she's naked, you will be interested to see that she is in fact on top form from an acting perspective. She is playing an uber bitch actress who will stop at nothing to get to the top, even if she has to seduce Terminator Robert Patrick. Oh yeah, he's in it too.
Teri is great in this movie and it's one of those ones which is your usual erotic thriller. It has an involving story and atmosphere and seducing soundtrack. And it is sooo 90's in places. Enjoy.

    Heaven's Prisoners DVD

When he emerged from film school in the mid-1980s, director Phil Joanou was touted as the next Steven Spielberg, perhaps because Spielberg took him on as a protégé briefly. Since then, it's been "Phil who?" thanks to a series of mediocre thrillers like this one. Based on one of a series of novels by James Lee Burke about a troubled ex-cop named Dave Robicheaux, this film sat on the shelf for a couple of years before finally being released in 1995. Alec Baldwin plays Robicheaux, a recovering alcoholic who has put life on the New Orleans police department behind him--until a plane crashes in the lake next to his house. He rescues a young Central American girl from the wreck and adopts her--and winds up involved in a gumbo of drug running and dirty dealing involving an old pal... More Info about this DVD

When Will I Be Loved DVD

Neve Campbell is an arresting enigma in When Will I Be Loved, one of writer-director James Toback's most mysterious and successful minimalist dramas about sex, deception, and mutable identities in New York City. Campbell plays twentysomething beauty Vera, whose nude shower scene during the film's opening credits looks more like mythic preparation for a soon-to-be-fateful day than brazen exploitation. Ensconced in a fantastic loft paid for by her parents (Barry Primus, Karen Allen), the unemployed Vera embarks on an odyssey that begins with a mutually deceitful job interview with a college professor (Toback), leads to misadventures in questionable perception in Central Park, and climaxes with Vera's successful manipulation of two powerful men, one a craven lover (Fred Weller) and... Blind Date DVD

Just finished watching this after having it for about a year or so and finally getting around to it. Well, I guess I could've waited even longer because it wasn't very good or really worth seeing at any particular time. I've seen worse so I was still able to sit through it and besides, it's loaded with typical nondescript 1980's music by unknown acts (at least here in the States, probably), bad acting, bad photography, bad special effects, bad writing and bad directing, so watching it was a kind of excercise in sadomasochistic patience. If you're a connoisseur of bad films then this one will certainly delight you. More Info about this DVD

    Prozac Nation DVD

Fans of Christina Ricci will note that the saucer-eyed actress takes a big leap from deadpan-child and grumpy-ingenue roles with Prozac Nation, an adaptation of Elizabeth Wurtzel's bestselling book. Ricci puts her all into playing Lizzie, a self-absorbed Ivy League writer wannabe who alienates friends and family with her out-of-control mood swings and other chemical imbalances. Ricci is committed and convincing, but nothing she does ameliorates Lizzie's exasperating personality; spending 90 minutes around this person is an eternity of tantrums. Around to provide audience stand-ins are Jason Biggs, Michelle Williams, and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, all of whom disapprove of Lizzie's self-destructive behavior. Jessica Lange, professional as always, is Lizzie's brittle mother. If the movie... More Info about this DVD
