DVD Gilligan's Island - The Complete Third Season
Though Gilligan and his fellow castaways will remain forever marooned in syndication, the series' network run actually did come to an end in 1967 after a three-year run and 98 episodes. The final 30--which for Gilligan fanatics, include many of the show's best--are compiled in this three-disc set, along with input from creator Sherwood Schwartz. It's not known if Schwartz knew that the series was headed for cancellation, but he and the writers definitely appear to pour on the steam in season 3 to produce some of the series' most imaginative episodes, many of which break out of the island sets through dream sequences; these include the season kickoff, "Up at Bat" (after being bitten by a bat, Gilligan dreams of being a vampire); "Pass the Vegetables, Please" (the castaways gain extraordinary powers after eating radioactive produce); "The Producer: (Phil Silvers guests as a Hollywood director whom the castaways attempt to win over with a musical production of Hamlet); "The Invasion" (the discovery of a government briefcase leads to Gilligan dreaming about spy capers); "The Secret of Gilligan's Island" (a stone table leads to a caveman dream), and so on. A cruise ship's worth of engaging guest stars (Don Rickles, Rory Calhoun, Strother Martin) and amusing performances by the always-game cast make this final season a worthwhile addition to any Gilligan groupie's collection. And doubling its value is commentary by Schwartz on "The Producer" (arguably, one of the best episodes of the entire series), and a featurette about the show's impact on pop culture. --Paul Gaita

Win DVD Capture
I liked being able to Capture some scenes using the Win DVD provision.I stored them on my Computer for personal use, review, only.
"The complete 3rd season"
If you grew up watching Gilligan's Island as I did every weekday afternoon, you will absolutely love the 3rd season! It is exactly as I remember each episode and the interaction between the Skipper and Gilligan seems even more funny when compared with modern shows of today. My only small complaint is the actual packaging of the three DVD's. They are double sided DVD's and are also more difficult to get out of the case itself. However, the episodes are absolutely incredible!!!
The third and final season
Gilligan's Island never had a special farewell because CBS never initially decided to pull the plug on the sitcom after its third season. It was supposed to carry on for a fourth season, but CBS decided at the last minute to give it the axe(the ratings were high when the series finale aired in spring 1967). But we do see the cast rescued in a subsequent TV movie that premiered,I think,in 1978(entitled RESCUE FROM GILLIGAN'S ISLAND). Despite the three-season run,GI has been relentlessly syndicated since CBS last aired it. I dedicate this item to the memories of Bob Denver(Gilligan),Alan Hale(the Skipper),Jim Backus(Thurston Howell III)and Natalie Schaefer(Thruston's wife Lovey Howell). Denver passed away at age 70 in September 2005 of cancer.

Forget about a three-hour tour--Gilligan's Island fans can sit right back and enjoy all 32 episodes of the much-loved television comedy and even a few extras with this three-disc set. GI aficionados will probably argue which episode deserves to be called the best in the series' three-year history until the end of time, but few will disagree that its sophomore season (1965-66) contains some of its funniest and best-remembered episodes. For starters, season 2 marks the show's debut in color, as well as the first time the Professor (Russell Johnson) and Mary Ann (Dawn Wells) were mentioned in the opening theme song (all of this occurs in the season opener, "Gilligan's Mother-in-Law"). But it also includes such classic episodes as "Hi Fi Gilligan" (Gilligan picks up radio... As a child growing up in the 70's and 80's, I used to come home from school and watch The Munsters. I was absolutely fascinated with this series. The characters were hilarious, and the scripts were excellent! Now, the complete second season, comes to DVD in a 3 disc set. It features all 32 episodes from The Munsters second and final season. Don't forget about the 4 A&E Bios as bonus features! The 4 A&E Bios will be about, The Munsters, "America's First Family of Fright", Fred Gwynne, "More Than a Munster", Yvonne DeCarlo, "Gilded Lily", and Al Lewis, "Forever Grandpa". All packaged, in a Herman Munster head.
I would not miss the chance to own the second season of this fantastic family show!

The Brady Bunch never scored high ratings during its five year run, but this friendly family comedy has remained in reruns ever since, while bigger hits have slipped into oblivion. Pretty much everyone who grew up in the 1970s or '80s knows the show inside and out: A vision of suburban family life so utopian it's as fantastical as Neverland or Santa's workshop--and just like these imaginary realms, it casts a spell over every kid who wished all problems could be resolved with a few wise words, a good-natured shrug, or a winsome smile. The Brady Bunch: The Complete Second Season is indistinguishable from every other season, but the reassuring formula is crucial to the show's appeal. Eldest brother Greg (Barry Williams) may decide he's all grown up and wants a groovy bachelor... More Info about this DVD Actor(s): Robert Reed Director(s): Leslie H. A top 10 show in its first season (a top 20 show in its second), Hogan's Heroes, like Gilligan's Island, got little love from critics during its seven-year run, but it would come to be ranked among TV's guiltiest pleasures. Hogan's Heroes has gotten something of a bad rap. It is not a situation comedy set in a concentration camp. It is, instead, set in a P.O.W. camp, where Col. Hogan (Bob Crane, a former top radio jock, in his star-making role) and his men "trick the dumb Germans," to quote the late Crane's former wife, Sigrid Valdis, in her enlightening commentary on the episode, "Hogan Gives a Birthday Party." While Valdis reveals that the film Von Ryan's Express was a key inspiration for the series, the show seems to takes its cue from Billy Wilder's...
