I was so looking forward to this. I love Martin Short and I love Jiminy. But this was almost torturous to watch. It had it's good moments, but it had an equal amount of bad moments too. Dixie was not how I had imagined her and neither were the boys. The interviews were about the only highlights. I loved the Kurt Russell interview. That was great (and just before the credits roll, there are some outtakes where Kurt is doubled up in laughter - that was funny). I'm sorry if you don't agree with this review but I'm only being honest and I am a true Martin Short fan. If I had a choice, I'd just rent this instead of purchasing it.
Up and down
When it comes to humor Jiminy Glick is up and down. Glick isnt really funny, instead John Michael Higgins' eurojerk character provides most of the laughs. The outtakes at the end are also great. If you give this movie a chance, you'll get some laughs (not many though)
Funny, and thats all you'd expect!
This movie has been trashed by almost every reveiwer, and yet they almost all make the same conclusion: It's funny and enjoyable. The plot wasn't great but it wasn't what you wanted! The movie was funny for all the reasons Glick has been funny since his first appearence on the Martin Show, and since his early roots as a Skip E Lowe spoof on SCTV and SNL. Martin is the master at getting in to a character and he does so brilliantly, with Glick! This is never short on laughs and is one of the funniest movies ever! Don't come in expecting Masterpeice Theatre, because thats just not what anyone should want from Martin Short. It is more of a spoof of a movie then it is one! For heavens sake he was an SCTV member, it's never going to get serious in the room! In addition he does a hysterical impression David Lynch!

I've always found Martin Short funny, but now he takes funny to a different level. He's normally quick anyway, but playing the lovable and yet annoying Jiminy, he's a whole new kind of quick and brings the humour up a couple of notches. How the interviewees don't crack up all the time is amazing. I'd be on the floor if it were me. This is excellent and I highly recomend this. There are great appearances by some great actors and it's very very entertaining. As an esteemed television journalist put out to pasture by the networks and faced with the engagement of her son, Jane Fonda is fierce, funny, and ready to rumble as the title character in Monster-in-Law in a way that the rest of the film itself never really is. Jennifer Lopez, the film's other above-the-title star, is set to marry handsome, wealthy Michael Vartan but has one helluva time dealing with his insanely possessive mother. The result is pretty much what you'd expect--lots of snarls and slapstick and an easy, kisses-all-around conclusion, though it is surprising (and maybe a little disheartening) to watch Fonda throw herself into such disposable comedy with such gusto. Director Robert Luketic, who slept while Reese Witherspoon tottered off with his Legally Blonde,... One of the best films of 2004, Kinsey pays tribute to the flawed but honorable man who revolutionized our understanding of human sexuality. As played by Liam Neeson in writer-director Bill Condon's excellent film biography, Indiana University researcher Alfred Kinsey was so consumed by statistical measurements of human sexual activity that he almost completely overlooked the substantial role of emotions and their effect on human behavior. This made him an ideal researcher and science celebrity who revealed that sexual behaviors previously considered deviant and even harmful (homosexuality, oral sex, etc.) are in fact common and essentially normal in the realm of human experience, but whose obsession with scientific method frequently placed him at odds with his understanding wife... Despite super effects, a huge budget, and the cinematic pedigree of alien-happy Steven Spielberg, this take on H.G. Wells's novel is basically a horror film packaged as a sci-fi thrill ride. Instead of a mad slasher, however, Spielberg (along with writers Josh Friedman & David Koepp) utilizes aliens hell-bent on quickly destroying humanity, and the terrifying results that prey upon adult fears, especially in the post-9/11 world. The realistic results could be a new genre, the grim popcorn thriller; often you feel like you're watching Schindler's List more than Spielberg's other thrill-machine movies (Jaws, Jurassic Park). The film centers on Ray Ferrier, a divorced father (Tom Cruise, oh so comfortable) who witnesses one giant craft destroy his New Jersey town and... Brutal and breathtaking, Sin City is Robert Rodriguez's stunningly realized vision of Frank Miller's pulpy comic books. In the first of three separate but loosely related stories, Marv (Mickey Rourke in heavy makeup) tries to track down the killers of a woman who ended up dead in his bed. In the second story, Dwight's (Clive Owen) attempt to defend a woman from a brutal abuser goes horribly wrong, and threatens to destroy the uneasy truce among the police, the mob, and the women of Old Town. Finally, an aging cop on his last day on the job (Bruce Willis) rescues a young girl from a kidnapper, but is himself thrown in jail. Years later, he has a chance to save her again.
