Old Fashion Christmas Fun
I don't know why this DVD is getting such a bad review. My girls (5 and 3) love it! I think the old fashioned cartoons and music are great. They are a refreshing change of pace for kids. Actually their favorite parts of the movie are the cartoons! By the look on their faces, I can see that it gives them that magiacal Christmas feeling.
Don't Waste Your Time or Money!
My daughter was very excited for this DVD to come out, having seen it advertised on another Disney DVD. What a disappointment for both of us! I agree with the other reviewers that Disney released this as an easy buck. I felt the old cartoons recycled as part of this weren't entirely suitable for a 4 year old. My daughter was frightened by the Jack-in-the-Box in "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" segment and the drunken rum cookies in "The Cookie Carnival" were cute to an adult but not appropriate for kids. Disney marketed this well but it does not deliver!
princess flop
Me and my daughter were very excited to watch the movie and we waited and waited for the jasmine story about christmas and it never happened she was just in a song. Nor, did you see really any princess in the DVD. They should of named this the disney christmas movie. It was cheap in the voices and animations. DO NOT BUY THIS FOR A PRINCESS LOVER.

Basically it's another run of the mill Barbie movie . Not awful but not good. I'm not a little girl. I'm a 3D enthusiast so I look at it from a different perspective. The effects for DVD are average and yes red and blue (anaglyph)3D can be disorientating when the film is in color.There's many things that can be done about that but it's up to the consumer to express a demand in quality 3D DVD.If you want good family 3D purchase the Ultimate Imax Collection.This electronic system works with flickering LCD lenses and produces a splendid out of the set 3D experience. The major set backs are that untill the demand for more is expressed the number of titles is limited and for the time being they only work on the tube sets and not plasma or HDTV. Worry not, Disney fans--this special edition DVD of the beloved Cinderella won't turn into a pumpkin at the strike of midnight. One of the most enduring animated films of all time, the Disney-fied adaptation of the gory Brothers Grimm fairy tale became a classic in its own right, thanks to some memorable tunes (including "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes," "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo," and the title song) and some endearingly cute comic relief.
I completely agree with the other reviewers. My daughters (5 & 2) received this as a gift and we were all completely shocked by the horrific storylines. They were so negative and disturbing that my husband and I decided they are not allowed to watch this DVD. The title "Beauty Shines From Within" is totally deceiving, as the stories are anything but beautiful. The only one that was even decent was the Cinderella one, which was of poor quality and "pieced together." I ended up giving my girls a very early Christmas present of the Cinderella DVD to replace this one, and it is so much better it's not even comparable. Our whole family enjoys the Cinderella one. It's just too bad Disney has put so much other garbage out there - it makes me really think twice before buying any more Princess... I hate to put on a full length movie for my four year old, so these 45 minute sing alongs are great! And if you love all the Disney princess movies you will love this sing along. When you hear the songs it will take you back to childhood. My daughter loves to sing to the songs and dance through the room! I highly recommend this DVD!
