Review(s): DVD Ghostbusters I & II (Double Feature Giftset)
Can't give less than 5 stars
I'm 28 so these movies mean alot to me.Great flicks for a great price.
A poor upgrade in every way........Terrible!!!!!!!!
First off, I gave this release 1 star not for the films themselves, but for how this release was marketed!! Why sony would re-release these films with LESS THAN what was offered before is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. I bought this double dip originally thinking that these were the same discs as the original releases, just re-pressed. To my dismay, this was not the case. Some of the key features that were on the original Ghostbusters disc that made it a truly fantastic unique experience are missing here. A video commentary arranged like mystery science theater....a pop-up video commentary, all the trailers are gone....I could go on with more here because there are more, but you get the picture. I was lucky enough to get my money back from this farce of a product. I only cared about the original film anyway so I went out and searched high and low for the now out of print original dvd version and found it brand new. I just got it today. In conclusion, dont waste your money on this trash. Get the original dvd versions that were released a few years back. Im going to now enjoy my Ghostbusters dvd that has everything on it that it should!! I found mine through amazon sellers. Go there and grab it. Dont make the mistake of buying this unacceptable edition!!
Revisit the 80s!!!!
What a blast from the past! I loved these films as a kid, and they really stand the test of time. The special effects don't look nearly as out of date as in other films from the same era. The jokes are still funny because they're timeless. It's great to see Aykroyd and Ramis subtly interact underneath some really witty dialogue, only to let Murray take it completely over the top.
The first disc contains some interesting interviews with the cast looking back on "Ghostbusters," as well as some behind the scenes featurettes and deleted scenes. The second disc contains two episodes of the cartoon. These movies are still fun & make a great double feature. Who you gonna call?

Filmmaker Robert Zemeckis topped his breakaway hit Romancing the Stone with Back to the Future, a joyous comedy with a dazzling hook: what would it be like to meet your parents in their youth? Billed as a special-effects comedy, the imaginative film (the top box-office smash of 1985) has staying power because of the heart behind Zemeckis and Bob Gale's script. High schooler Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox, during the height of his TV success) is catapulted back to the '50s where he sees his parents in their teens, and accidentally changes the history of how Mom and Dad met. Filled with the humorous ideology of the '50s, filtered through the knowledge of the '80s (actor Ronald Reagan is president, ha!), the film comes off as a Twilight Zone episode written by Preston... As with Star Wars, the George Lucas-produced Indiana Jones trilogy was not just a plaything for kids but an act of nostalgic affection toward a lost phenomenon: the cliffhanging movie serials of the past. Episodic in structure and with fate hanging in the balance about every 10 minutes, the Jones features tapped into Lucas's extremely profitable Star Wars formula of modernizing the look and feel of an old, but popular, story model. Steven Spielberg directed all three films, which are set in the late 1930s and early '40s: the comic book-like Raiders of the Lost Ark, the spooky, Gunga Din-inspired Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and the cautious but entertaining Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The fourth entry in the Harry Potter saga could be retitled Fast Times at Hogwarts, where finding a date to the winter ball is nearly as terrifying as worrying about Lord Voldemort's return. Thus, the young wizards' entry into puberty (and discovery of the opposite sex) opens up a rich mining field to balance out the dark content in the fourth movie (and the stories are only going to get darker). Mike Newell (Four Weddings and a Funeral) handily takes the directing reins and eases his young cast through awkward growth spurts into true young actors. Harry (Daniel Radcliffe, more sure of himself) has his first girl crush on fellow student Cho Chang (Katie Leung), and has his first big fight with best bud Ron (Rupert Grint). Meanwhile, Ron's underlying romantic tension with... More Info about this DVD Director(s): Mike Newell DVD Release Date: Released the 07 March 2006 Usually ships in 24 hours

Bill Murray was heading toward a career peak on the back of comedies such as this one from 1981, the second film in his ongoing collaboration with director Ivan Reitman (the two went on to make Ghostbusters). Murray plays a chronic loser who joins the army and fails to find a fan for his ironic sensibilities in his by-the-book sergeant (Warren Oates). When push comes to shove, however, the smirking hero takes charge of his ragtag unit and turns them into fighting machines, albeit to the rhythm of hit songs by Manfred Mann and Sly Stone. The film is occasionally funny, but it mostly plays like any one of a dozen underachieving comedies featuring players from Saturday Night Live and SCTV. --Tom KeoghMore Info about this DVD Director(s): Ivan Reitman DVD Release Date: Released the 07 June 2005 Usually ships in 24 hours

Ending the most popular film epic in history, Star Wars: Episode III, Revenge of the Sith is an exciting, uneven, but ultimately satisfying journey. Picking up the action from Episode II, Attack of the Clones as well as the animated Clone Wars series, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and his apprentice, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), pursue General Grievous into space after the droid kidnapped Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid).
