I'm a huge fan of Tracey, but it's no 5 stars. Honestly, it's more like 3 stars, but it does have its moments. It's more of a story of her life. Personally, I don't care so much about her life, I would rather have more of her characters. Still, fans of hers will enjoy it.
Tracey spills her comedic guts
This is a must-have DVD if you're even a casual fan of Tracey Ullman. Just the fact that she's able to pull off a stand-up act of this type proves her comedic talent. Her act is divided into 10 segments: Show In Mommy's Bedroom, Girl With the Star, The Dancing Years, A Little Variety, The Music Thing, Dinner in New York, Married To Hollywood, The Tracey Show, Talking Heads, and The Big Realization. All of these segments represent a period in her life which she feels helped define her both as a person and also as a comedian. Tracey pretty much covers all the major events and turning points of her life, from childhood to the present.
Half stand-up act and half autobiographical monologue, "Tracey Ullman Live and Exposed" is simply hilarious to watch from start to finish. Die-hard fans will probably already know most of what she says here (as I'm sure they've thoroughly researched her biography), but the main reason to watch it is self-explanatory: for Tracey's performance. Finding out about her life is secondary here. Not that watching her telling about her life story isn't entertaining; it definitely is. She goes through several costume changes between segments, and we all know that one of Tracey's best traits as a comedian is transforming into other characters.
If you like Tracey Ullman, you'd be crazy not to get this. And keep an eye out for season one of "Tracey Takes On," soon to be released on DVD!
Tracey Takes On is an extremely well directed show with skits about a certain subject which Tracey "takes on". From an Eldery Hair Dresser to Gay Flight Attendant, the range of characters is astounding. She brings each to life with her wonderful accents and their enlightening observations. It's easy to forget it's her acting.
I was so excited when I heard Tracey was coming to DVD. I've preordered my own copy and think about it every day! A must own!
When prissy, prickly Sylvia Stickles (Tracey Ullman) suffers a head injury during a traffic altercation, she's, er, revived by self-appointed sexual missionary Ray-Ray Perkins (Johnny Knoxville) and is transformed into an insatiable, take-no-prisoners sex maniac. Yes, it's a John Waters film. Yes, it's filthy. No, it's not as hilarious and sustained as you'd like it to be. It works for a while, though: Ullman, never a stingy comedienne, does everything Waters dares her to do without hesitation; words cannot describe the perversely sporting delight with which she mounts a water bottle during a round of "The Hokey Pokey" at an old folks' home. And there's some fun to be had when Sylvia's emancipation leads her Baltimore 'burb to new heights of ecstasy, freeing her large-breasted daughter... I was never a fan of Suddenly Susan, but when I saw Kathy Griffin's special on Bravo, I became a fan. She says what we all think, but would never say and she's extremely brave for taking on the big stars. I love her take on the stars and what she has witnessed. It's a very funny show. A frame-bursting roster of actors crowds this two-part HBO miniseries, which is nothing less than a look at America through the lens of a small New England town. Richard Russo adapted his own novel, a story of a gently depressed factory town that has always been run by the wealthiest family around (currently lorded over by matriarch Joanne Woodward). Ed Harris plays the central role, a decent, cautious man who runs a local diner and carefully negotiates the political niceties of Empire Falls; Paul Newman is his rapscallion of a father (the son is perpetually picking food out of Dad's beard), Helen Hunt is Harris's ex-wife, Aidan Quinn his feistier brother, and Robin Wright Penn his tragical mother seen in flashbacks.
The goal of Russo and director Fred Schepisi seems to have been... More Info about this DVD Director(s): Fred Schepisi DVD Release Date: Released the 13 September 2005 Usually ships in 24 hours

Audiences were captivated by the women of Wisteria Lane in the first season of Desperate Housewives, the breakout hit from ABC that almost single-handedly lifted the network from its ratings doldrums and brought back the classic TV soap, remixed now with satire, comedy, and mystery. An affectionate yet darkly tinged send-up of suburbia that skirted Twin Peaks territory as much as that of Knots Landing, Desperate Housewives opened with a bang--literally--as perfect-seeming housewife Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong) went through her picture-perfect day before putting a handgun to her temple and pulling the trigger. Mary Alice's sudden suicide leaves her four closest friends, all housewives of a sort, with a surfeit of grief, a re-examination of their own lives,...
