    Review(s): DVD Dolls
DVD Transfer is very Good,Extras are lacking.

I had this on Laserdisk years ago and the quality was HORRIBLE!It does look like MGM cleaned it up ALOT and it looks pretty clean compaired to the Crummy LaserDisk Version.I just wish the deleted scenes were included as well as a booklet. The Commentary by Cast members was lacking. Can you say "Boring As Hell?".They did not say anything about how a scene was done or behind the scenes. He seemed like he was not all there during the commentary. He remembered nothing and asked alot of weird questions to other cast members about filming(was he all there during filming too?).Is he ok?He is a funny actor and seems like a nice guy,I hope he is ok.The other cast members(including Lee),seemed like they were asleep and not really into the commentary much. With the exception of Carrie Lorraine, who played the little girl "Judy".She TRIED to make it interesting, but the other cast members were kind of quiet alot.Again,we want to know about the FILM and everyone's recollections.Ed Naha did a great wrting job.The Director,Stuart Gordon is VERY talented as well. But he would START to say something interesting, then NOT FINISH his thought and trail off.He did this over and over. While I LOVE this Movie and the DVD Print, the "Extras" were not there.I also went NUTS when Mr.Gordon described or STARTED to describe, how some effects were done with the Dolls then trailed off and STOPED AGAIN!Man,can you FINISH a thought?LOL.He then says,"I think someone will talk about the effects on their commentary".Umm,they DIDN'T!LOL.Did MGM LIE to him and say that was going to happen? ALos,where was the great Charles Band?He should have been with Mr.Naha and Mr.Gordon on the commentary.I mean Mr.Band BROUGHT us "Dolls",he deserved a spotlight as well.I really love this movie,Great Cast, great direction, written and produced well, and the MGM New Print is VERY NICE,but it looked like it was a rush job on MGM's part. How sad and dissapointing it did not get the attention it deserves.Buy the DVD as this is the best looking transfer and the movie is a CLASSIC!

"Toys are very loyal... and that's a fact"

I've always been a fan of "Dolls". It's a horror story and somewhat of
a kids story all rolled up into one.

When little Judy (Carrie Lorraine) and her nasty father and stepmother
(Ian Patrick Williams & Carolyn Purdy-Gordon) get stuck in the mud on a
little road in England during a horrific storm, they decide to hightail
it out of the car and stumble across a mansion owned by Gabriel &
Hilary (Guy Rolfe & Hilary Mason).

Gabriel is a doll maker whose house is filled room by room with his
creations. Soon they are joined by some other weather stranded folk:
punk rockers Isabel and Enid (Bunty Bailey & Cassie Stuart) and nice
childish Ralph (Stephen Lee) whose happened to pick up the stranded
    girls as well.

So Gabriel puts them all up for the night. Isabel decides she is going
to loot the place, and immediately takes off looking for valuables. Of
course, Gabriels dolls don't exactly find this to be acceptable- and
soon take matters into their own hands.

One by one the Dolls take their revenge on the house intruders, and
only little Judy knows whats going on. Of course, being that she is a
    child- know one believes her.

Except of course for Ralph, who after some disbelief realizes that
something "not quite right" is going on around them.

The killer dolls in "Dolls" are surprisingly creepy and effective,
which facial expressions and movements that are either bound to scare
you, make you laugh hysterically, or both.

The movie is quite well done overall- and remains a classic in this
reviewers book. Dolls is an underrated and under seen little gem, and
it's nice to see that it has finally made its way onto DVD for us
    horror fans.

If you haven't seen it recently or have never even heard of it at all,
"Dolls" is worth a viewing or even a second viewing for sure.

    Dolly Dearest DVD

Where as Chucky ended up being more of a comic hero, Dolly Dearest is downright evil. With a hint of "the Exorcist" posession thrown in, she's quite the satanic doll, making this a much darker movie than even the first Child's Play. Not to mention there's just something about little girl dolls that is much more freaky than little boy dolls. Another bonus of this movie is that it stars the actress who played the mother in Pet Semetary.

Chucky definitely married the wrong doll....

I just wish the DVD had gotten a widescreen transfer rather than a FULL SCREEN. But the movie itself is highly recommended. More Info about this DVD

From a Whisper to a Scream DVD

FROM A WHISPER TO A SCREAM is one of the most disgusting, horrifying, and just plain nasty movies I have ever seen. It touches on subjects such as incest, necrophelia, and also has some strange stories that include voodoo, a traveling carnival, and a bunch of depraved and creepy kids (a la Children of the Corn). If you like horror movies, though, and think you can stomach this, I say give it a try.

It was a nice suprise to see one of my all time favorites, Vincent Price, presenting the four-part anthology. His atmospheric voice and often creepy face are perfect for a movie like this.

The stories revolve around the fact that Price's niece is presently being executed for murder. Price is explaining to a reporter how it is not her fault she is like that, but... More Info about this DVD

    Alone in the Dark DVD

Jack sholder's 80's classic "ALONE IN THE DARK" is a unique slasher gem with some real substance to it! An intelligent scary film with a great little twist & only one weakness keeping it from being flawless & thats the unrealistic,un-emotional,overacting,bad dialog haveing, useless, annoying little blonde girl!(if she had any more dialog it may have ruined the movie!) With that said Martin Landau is truly excellent & scary as hell as The Preacher! This one is a horror fan must! More Info about this DVD

    Lady in White DVD

An impressive labor of love from independent writer-director Frank LaLoggia, this low-budget supernatural thriller was a sleeper hit in 1988, deservedly praised by critics and horror fans for its effective combination of ghostly terror and small-town charm. The influence of Steven Spielberg can be felt in the movie's imaginative scenario, but it's also got the affectionate appeal of autobiographical nostalgia, mixing details of LaLoggia's own youth in upstate New York with a frightening tale of Halloween horror. It begins when young Frankie (Lukas Haas) is locked in a grade-school cloakroom on Halloween night of 1962; he witnesses the ghostly image of a little girl and is nearly strangled to death by an unknown assailant. From that point forward, Frankie is convinced that the ghost is... More Info about this DVD

Land of the Dead (Unrated Edition) DVD

Bolstered by the success of 28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead, the Resident Evil movies and the hit remake of his own Dawn of the Dead, George A. Romero returns to the horror subgenre he invented with Land of the Dead. The fourth installment in Romero's zombie cycle (and the first since 1985's Day of the Dead) presents a logical progression of events since 1968's horror classic Night of the Living Dead: Zombies (also known as "stenches" for their rotting odor) are the dominant population, and they've begun to show signs of undead intelligence and gathering power. The wealthiest survivors live comfortably in a luxury high-rise within a barricaded safe zone, ignoring the horrors of the outside world while armed scavengers stage raids in the...
