Review(s): DVD Everybody Loves Raymond - The Complete First Four Seasons
    Brightens the night...

If I'm having a bad day, all I do is just put one of these DVDs in and I laugh until I feel better again. Romano just fits the character perfectly, and the dialouge really flows. Plus, the bonus features alone are almost worth the money.

These DVDs can be truly enjoyed by people of all ages. Take me, for example. I'm a fifteen year old guy who listens to punk music, and Everybody Loves Raymond is my favorite show of all time. Some teenagers are afraid to admit it. But everytime I show one of my friends an episode, they end up hooked.

I have all three DVDs and am getting this one the day it comes out, and I know I will end up watching every episode on season 4 until I have the script memorized, I always do. I suggest, if you have any sort of a sense of humor, you pick up at least on of the season box sets. You won't regret it!

Everybody Loves Raymond - The Series Finale DVD

I caught this on TV on the day it showed. It was excellent! It's a shame the series came to an end. but this was worth the time!

Ray has something very weird about him: he has an infection. He goes to the doctors to get it taken care of... But then the Doctor tells Debra that Ray is dead and upsets the family. But it turns out he was unconscious for a few seconds. Then, Ray has Ice cream to cool what happened earlier. Then, Marie, Frank and Rob get upset.

Also, I like how the "where's lunch" thing says "No charge, thank you!" More Info about this DVD

Desperate Housewives - The Complete First Season DVD

Audiences were captivated by the women of Wisteria Lane in the first season of Desperate Housewives, the breakout hit from ABC that almost single-handedly lifted the network from its ratings doldrums and brought back the classic TV soap, remixed now with satire, comedy, and mystery. An affectionate yet darkly tinged send-up of suburbia that skirted Twin Peaks territory as much as that of Knots Landing, Desperate Housewives opened with a bang--literally--as perfect-seeming housewife Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong) went through her picture-perfect day before putting a handgun to her temple and pulling the trigger. Mary Alice's sudden suicide leaves her four closest friends, all housewives of a sort, with a surfeit of grief, a re-examination of their own lives,... More Info about this DVD

Friends - The Complete Tenth Season DVD

Throughout its phenomenal run, Friends demonstrated that familiarity doesn't always breed contempt. But isn't it nice that even after 10 years, we could still learn something new about these intimately observed characters? Tidbits revealed in the episode "The One Where the Stripper Cries": Ross (David Schwimmer) and Monica (Courtney Cox Arquette) used to entertain at family gatherings as Donny and Marie; ("Oh God, that's right," remembers Rachel. "I blocked that out.") and Chandler (Matthew Perry) kissed Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) at a college party in the 1980s.

The King of Queens - The Complete Fourth Season DVD

The fourth season of The King of Queens opens with a perfect example of how the show spins real life into farce: Delivery guy Doug and his sardonic wife Carrie (Kevin James and Leah Remini) want to get pregnant, but can't get Carrie's cantankerous father Arthur (Jerry Stiller) out of the house; the only solution their budget will allow is hiring a dog-walker named Holly (Nicole Sullivan) to take Arthur to the park. A more banal sitcom would conclude with Arthur's rage when he discovers the truth, but The King of Queens finds a grace note with Arthur and Holly beginning a genuine friendship. Which is not to say that The King of Queens goes for easy sentiment; some of the fourth season's best moments walk a distinctly unsentimental line. When Arthur goes into the... Everybody Loves Raymond - The Complete Fifth Season DVD

The beloved sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond would be as brutal as a Strindberg drama if it didn't make familial bitterness so genuinely funny. Stand-up comedian Ray Romano (Ice Age) plays Ray Barone, a sportswriter married to Debra (the sharp and sexy Patricia Heaton) who has the misfortune to live just across the street from his invasive, bickering parents Frank and Marie (Peter Boyle, Young Frankenstein, and Doris Roberts, Remington Steele). Rounding out the cast is Ray's neglected older brother Robert (Brad Garrett, Gleason), whose every accomplishment has been ignored because his parents prefer to dote on the younger, cuter Ray. Robert, whose gloomy mug and huge size makes him loom over Ray like some malevolent alter-ego, is actually more honest and... More Info about this DVD
