Hot alien love does not a good movie make...
The Species trilogy is arguably one of the worst franchises ever. The films all follow the exact same premise: there's an ultra-hot alien babe with a sex drive that would put rabbits to shame, and she's running around trying to screw every man she meets. You have to wonder what lonely pizza-faced eighth-grader came up with this garbage, or what pot-smoking Hollywood big-shot decided that it should be done another two times. Actually, Species 3 isn't completely horrible. The main character in that one is slightly interesting, and the movie's emphasis is much less on the hot alien sex.

Species is a great alien movie and i think that this would be a great boxset in any dvd collection!!!!!! The movies keep you on your toes the whole time and they are great to watch over and over again!!!!!!
In delivering PG-13-rated excitement, Alien vs. Predator is an acceptably average science-fiction action thriller with some noteworthy highlights, even if it squanders its opportunity to intelligently combine two popular and R-rated franchises. Rabid fans can justifiably ask "Is that all there is?" after a decade of development hell and eager anticipation, but we're compensated by reasonably logical connections to the Alien legacy and the still-kicking Predator franchise (which hinted at AVP rivalry at the end of Predator 2); some cleverly claustrophobic sets, tense atmosphere and impressive digital effects; and a climactic AVP smackdown that's not half bad. Despite super effects, a huge budget, and the cinematic pedigree of alien-happy Steven Spielberg, this take on H.G. Wells's novel is basically a horror film packaged as a sci-fi thrill ride. Predator wreaked havoc in the jungle and struck box-office gold, so Hollywood logic dictated that Predator 2 should raise hell in the big, bad city. Los Angeles, to be specific, and this near-future L.A. (circa 1997) is an ultra-violent playground for the invisibility-cloaked alien that hunted Arnold Schwarzenegger in the previous film. In the grand scheme of theological thrillers, Constantine aspires for the greatness of The Exorcist but ranks more closely with The Order.
