Review(s): DVD Iron Maiden: Death on the Road
Maiden will be maiden, no matter what!!!

Death on the road again is a trully masterpiece. I am a lifetime fan of Iron Maiden (I am born in 83'). I know that maiden have a lot of live albums, but at least the keep making good studios new albums, not like Metallica (the last album of Metallica was horrible), don't get me wrong, Metallica is excellent like Iron Maiden, both are Living Legends.

People are disatisfied because maiden is making a lot of live albums, but any maiden fan knows that they always have a surprise (agree or not???).

Support Iron Maiden, they will never let us down!!! I am looking forward for the next new studio album. (I hope that someday they will come again to make a concert on my country Puerto Rico)

    Thanks and UP THE IRON'S

Buy the CD and DVD if you really like what Maiden has put out in the last decade, otherwise skip this!

Like a lot of bands, they peak and then spend the remaining years trying to recapture the lost magic. This is sledom done. Aerosmith is a great exception to the rule. I have been a Maiden fan since 1981 and will go see them every time they come to town but let's face it. 2005 Iron Maiden is a very different monster than the Live After Death band from 1985. Actually no comparison. DVDs and live albums sell and these guys know it. That is why there is another one from yet another tour. Just like the Rolling Stones. Older maiden fans save your money and buy a CD with a group of good songs, not from a band that is truly functioning and cashing in on former glories. Just because it says IRON MAIDEN doesn't necessarily mean good things. The name is a cash cow but that doesn't mean we should reward these guys for mediocre songs and product. Buy "The Early Years" instead. You will feel much better and the nostalgia trip will be well worth it. This leaves one just remembering what Maiden once was.

It's for the show - not the setlist!

Granted, I will absoltely agree with everyone who has said the setlists of recent years have been all too familar, and could certainly use some "freshening up" with less played material. Now, with that aside, the (cd version) kicks butt! Great recording - don't listen to anyone who says different.
Regarding the DVD, this is a MUST OWN for any self-respecting Maiden fan, since it represents a piece of Maiden history, that being the "Dance Of Death" (Death On The Road) tour! That is what this is ALL about; the visual spectical, the massive stage set, the new "Giant Eddie" and so forth. This DVD will mark another important part in Maiden history, and come on, does feature LOTS of new material from the Dance Of Death album. I can't wait to see Paschendale performed live on stage with all the artillery sound effects!
This tour didn't include the USA, so it's a blessing to have it released in all it's glory on DVD. Can't wait til Nov. 22! UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also received an advance of this DVD and the sound and picture quality are outstanding. The band is as good as they ever were on this tour, playing a particularly tight show (from the edits over two nights at Budokan) for Japanese audience.
Couple of gems like The Ripper and Hot Rockin' are nice additions as they weren't played regularly during the 2005 tour.
The camera work combines some old school metal feel with split sceen and stop fades with more comtemporary views.
All I can say that is if they never played another note, this would be a fitting capper to their career.
As any Priest fan knows, Rob Halford's voice is only a fraction of what it used to be. When you consider that he can still pull this music off at his age, it's actually to a testament to how... More Info about this DVD
