DVD Mallrats (10th Anniversary Extended Edition)
Sophomore jinx hit hard in this second film by Kevin Smith, whose debut Clerks transcended the limits of its setting and budget to become something memorably funny. (Smith followed Mallrats with the wonderful Chasing Amy, so Mallrats definitely had the old curse.) A ramshackle comedy set in a mall, the film follows several story lines involving lovers, enemies, friends, goofballs, and Smith's own "silent" character, who also appeared in Clerks and Chasing Amy. A heavy self-consciousness weighs on everything, as if Smith forgot how to make obscenity funny instead of tedious. Still, it's nice to see some of the director's film family on screen, among them Jason Lee and Joey Lauren Adams. --Tom Keogh
Review(s): DVD Mallrats (10th Anniversary Extended Edition)
Seriously a great comedy
I really don't understand how anyone can put this movie down. It's extremely witty, and Jason Lee is a box of laughs the whole way. There isn't much to say about it, cause it's a simple, great movie. If you want a good laugh at a solid movie, you owe it to yourself to check this out.
Great Kevin Smith movie
I think this might be one of the better Kevin Smith movies out. It is one of my top ten comedy movies of all times. Although the movie doesn't make much sense you just have to understand that Kevin Smith isn't usually trying to make sense, just trying to make you laugh.
3 1/2 stars for this brilliant flop!
Although Mallrats was a box office flop, most Kevin Smith fans think that this was the best. I am Kevin Smith fan, although I have only seen 2 of his films, so you know i'm not a die hard fan but think hw has lots of good ideas. I hope to see clerks and clerks 2, chasing amy, and possibly dogma, alothough i've heard that its racist. So your nprobably wondering if this anniversary edition of mallrats is a good choice or not. Well, I can't make that decision for you, but if you're looking for a rude, crude, and outrageous comedy, than this is the way to go. The special features on this disc is to die for. They include: cast and crew interviews, Kevin Smith dvd introduction, making-of featurette, thatrical trailer, both the R-rated theatrical version, and the unrated extended versions, and much more! So next time your in the video store, and in the comedy section wondering which is the best selection, look into Mallrats. P.S BEWARE!!!!!!... DON'T LET VERY YOUNG CHILDREN WATCH THIS MOVIE, IT CONTAINS STRONG SEXUAL CONTENT INCLUDING DIALOGUE, BRIEF COMIC VIOLENCE, STRONG LANGUAGE, NON-STOP CRUDE AND GROSS HUMOR, AND SOME NUDITY!!!!

Before Kevin Smith became a Hollywood darling with Chasing Amy, a film he wrote and directed, he made this $27,000 comedy about real-life experiences working for chump change at a New Jersey convenience store. A rude, foul-mouthed collection of anecdotes about the responsibilities that go with being on the wrong side of the till, the film is also a relationship story that takes some hilarious turns once the lovers start revealing their sexual histories to one another. In the best tradition of first-time, ultra-low budget independent films, Smith uses Clerks as an audition piece, demonstrating that he not only can handle two-character comedy but also has an eye for action--as proven in a smoothly handled rooftop hockey scene. Smith himself appears as a silent figure who hangs... More Info about this DVD Actor(s): Jeff Anderson - Brian O'Halloran DVD Release Date: Released the 29 June 1999 Usually ships in 24 hours

Writer-director Kevin Smith (Clerks) makes a huge leap in sophistication with this strong story about a comic-book artist (Ben Affleck) who falls in love with a lesbian (Joey Lauren Adams) and actually gets his wish that she love him, too. Their relationship is attacked, however, by his business partner (Jason Lee), who pulls a very unsubtle Iago act to cast doubt over the whole affair. The film has the same sense of insiderness as Clerks--this time, Smith takes us within the arcane, funny world of comic-book cultism--but the themes of jealousy, deceit, and the high price of growing up enough to truly care for someone make this a very satisfying movie. --Tom KeoghMore Info about this DVD Actor(s): Joey Lauren Adams - Ben Affleck DVD Release Date: Released the 13 June 2000 Usually ships in 24 hours

With sidesplitting dialogue and rampant profanity, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back reunites Kevin Smith's dynamic duo in supreme lowbrow style. It's the fifth comedy in Smith's celebrated New Jersey "trilogy." Here Quick-Stop potheads Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith) wreak vengeance on Hollywood, where Miramax is making a "Bluntman & Chronic" feature inspired by J. and S.B., but without their permission. En route from Jersey to La La Land, Jay and his "hetero life mate" encounter sexy jewel thieves (including the delightful Shannon Elizabeth), a precocious orangutan, a dimwit wildlife marshal (Will Ferrell), and a nonstop parade of in-jokes, harmless (yet controversial) gay jokes, and splendid celebrity cameos. While gently biting the Miramax hand that feeds him, and... More Info about this DVD DVD Release Date: Released the 26 February 2002 Usually ships in 24 hours

Kevin Smith is a conundrum of a filmmaker: he's a writer with brilliant, clever ideas who can't set up a simple shot to save his life. It was fine back when Smith was making low-budget films like Clerks and Chasing Amy, both of which had an amiable, grungy feel to them, but now that he's a rising director who's attracting top talent and tackling bigger themes, it might behoove him to polish his filmmaking. That's the main problem with Dogma--it's an ambitious, funny, aggressively intelligent film about modern-day religion, but while Smith's writing has matured significantly (anyone who thinks he's not topnotch should take a look at Chasing Amy), his direction hasn't. It's too bad, because Dogma is ripe for near-classic status in its theological satire,... Okay, I am writing this rare review in anticipation of a release because some of the other reviews are a bit off target. Jay and Silent Bob do Degrassi is a 3 episode arc of Degrassi-The Next Generation. These 3 episodes are the last episodes of the shows 4th season. Kevin Smith descends upon Degrassi to film a movie, "Jay and Silent Bob Do Degrassi." Although, the Kevin Smith storyline is prevalent, the main Degrassi storyline continues. The first episode of the arc primarily focuses on Paige being a spoiled brat as usual. She doesn't want to give Manny any credit for her role in the spirit squad and the two go back and forth. Craig speaks to a member of Kevin Smiths production about writing a song for the movie. Happy, Craig and Ashley get to work. Their songs are panned and...
