DVD Hart to Hart - The Complete First Season
Created by Sidney Sheldon (I Dream of Jeannie), Hart to Hart was a Thin Man for the 1980s. Self-made millionaire Jonathan (Robert Wagner, It Takes a Thief) and part-time journalist Jennifer Hart (Stefanie Powers, The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.) even had their own Asta-like pooch, Freeway. Unlike Nick and Nora Charles, however, children weren't part of their globe trotting, crime solving plan. Fortunately, they had trusty butler/Bentley driver Max (Golden Globe winner Lionel Stander) to keep them company.
Mr. And Mrs. H., as Max referred to them, were introduced by 1979's two-part pilot ("Hart to Hart"), which features Roddy McDowall and Stella Stevens as devious doctors and Wagner's future wife, Jill St. John (Diamonds are Forever), as a wealthy patient. Natalie Wood, his wife at the time, also has a cameo (under the name Natasha Gurdin). Other highlights of the first year include "Jonathan Hart, Jr.," in which a stranger (Dee Wallace-Stone, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial) claims Jonathan is her son's father, and "You Made Me Kill You," in which an obsessed Jonathan fan (Kathleen Lloyd, Magnum P.I.) plans to eliminate the competition--Jennifer Hart. Other notable guests include Markie Post (Night Court), Daniel J. Travanti (Hill Street Blues), René Auberjonois (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Juliet Mills (Nanny and the Professor), and Eve Arden (Our Miss Brooks).
Hart to Hart ran on ABC for five seasons and went on to inspire such popular detective dramas as Remington Steele and Moonlighting. After a move to NBC, it was followed by eight made-for-TV movies. Sadly, Stander passed away shortly after filming 1994's Secrets of the Hart. Three years later, Wagner gained a new generation of fans by spoofing the urbane manner that helped make Hart to Hart such a hit in the Austin Powers trilogy. --Kathleen C. Fennessy
Review(s): DVD Hart to Hart - The Complete First Season
Wonderful Memories
It as wonderful to enjoy Season 1 of Hart to Hart all over again. The black tie, the romance -- it was great!!
Great family viewing
Hart to Hart! Great family viewing, spectacular scenery, great relationships of the characters involved. Our family especially enjoys looking for the clues to solve the crimes. Everyone can do this without undue graffic violence, obscenities or blatant sex getting mixed into the scenes. If you enjoy mysteries try Hart to Hart, Diagnosis Murder or Murder She Wrote just to name a few.
Other seasons
Well, now that we have two seasons down and I've watched all my disc over and over and over.... when do we expect the others to be released.

For Steele's sophomore year, Murphy and Bernice are out and Mildred Krebs (Emmy-magnet Doris Roberts) is in. She gets pulled into the orbit of private investigators Laura Holt (Stephanie Zimbalist) and Remington Steele (Pierce Brosnan) when she audits their agency in the two-part season opener ("Steele Away With Me"). Krebs follows the duo to Acapulco, where she helps with a case, and ends up abandoning the IRS for the more glamorous world of detective work. Other changes include a revamped title sequence and a new loft for Holt when a failed assassination attempt results in the destruction of her home ("Red Holt Steele").
While Krebs represents a welcome addition, wily quick change artist Major Descoine (Guy Boyd), who is introduced a few episodes later ("Steele Framed"), is... More Info about this DVD Actor(s): Stephanie Zimbalist DVD Release Date: Released the 08 November 2005 Usually ships in 24 hours

They were the happening '70s answer to Nick and Nora Charles from the Thin Man movies, and when McMillan & Wife premiered as part of the "NBC Mystery Movie" lineup (in three-way rotation with McCloud and Columbo) on September 17, 1971, they were an instant hit with both critics and viewers. The two-hour pilot "Once Upon a Dead Man" set the serio-comic tone for the series: San Francisco police commissioner Stewart McMillan (Rock Hudson, his film career in decline) and the goofy doofus Sgt. Enright (John Schuck) frequently found themselves in the midst of a mystery, typically beginning when McMillan's cute and kooky wife Sally (Susan Saint James) stumbled onto telltale evidence or a murder scene. The McMillans were the perfect image of '70s California cool,... Remington Steele's fusion of whodunit mystery and screwball comedy burst onto television in 1982. After struggling to get clients to hire a female detective, Laura Holt (sultry Stephanie Zimbalist) invents a fictional boss named Remington Steele, whose dashing manly name draws in work. But while protecting some South African jewels, Holt runs across a mysterious thief and con-man (an elfin, baby-faced Pierce Brosnan) whom her client assumes is the nonexistent Steele--and when the case is resolved, the accidental detective decides he likes the work and sticks around, infuriating Holt with his arrogant ways and tantalizing her with his dashing good looks. Murders may occur at a winery, an island sex club, or a college reunion, but just about every episode plunders plot elements from...
