Review(s): DVD Roseanne - The Complete Second Season
Roseanne Releases for the future
I have gotten word that Anchor Bay has also given us a brief future and distant release schedule of Roseanne. Season 3 will be out March 21, and season 4 is expected in early July, possible around Tuesday, July 4. Special features will include interviews from the children of Roseanne and best of season 3. Season 4 is due for somewhere around October 19. Season 5 should be out early January 2007, while seasons 6, 7, 8, 9 will be out by the end of the 2007 year, or very early January 2008. Also expect a different box art from season 1 and 2 for season 3.

While it might seem like something out of another dimension given the world we're living in now, this prime-time show that aired from 1985 to 1992 about the hilarious exploits of four single women of a certain age living out their semi-retirement in Miami still stands up. The plots are mostly predictable, and the set never changes, but this ensemble cast really comes into its own in the third season--one that earned them three Emmys and a Golden Globe. Blanche is just as man-crazy as ever, Sophia works her brutal honesty and "picture Sicily stories" to perfection, Dorothy remains the eternal stalwart straight man without compare, and Rose's dull-witted reveries always make for a great gag. Standout episodes in this season include "A Letter to Gorbachev," where Rose pens a letter urging... More Info about this DVD DVD Release Date: Released the 22 November 2005 Usually ships in 24 hours

As the saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," and the second season of The Golden Girls picks up where the first ended. The same classic quartet--Blanche, Rose, Dorothy, and Sophia--is back, along with their snappy retorts, shoulder pads, and cheesecake. Well, there was one change. In the season premiere, "End of the Curse," Blanche (Rue McClanahan) goes through menopause.
Highlights of the 26 episodes include "Ladies of the Evening," featuring a cameo from Burt Reynolds, just a few years prior to his own network sitcom, Evening Shade. As Blanche exclaims, "Mr. Burt Reynolds is one of our finest living actors...I mean, you put Sir Laurence Olivier in Cannonball Run--see what he can do." Then there's "Isn't It Romantic?" with Lois Nettleton (In... More Info about this DVD DVD Release Date: Released the 17 May 2005 Usually ships in 24 hours

My stars! The first, and perhaps most magical, season of Bewitched still casts an enchanting spell. For escapist fantasy, this series, no doubt inspired by the play Bell, Book and Candle, broke significant television ground. The Stephens were sitcoms' first mixed marriage. Advertising executive Darrin Stephens (Dick York) was mortal, and wife Samantha (Elizabeth Montgomery) was a witch. According to a retrospective segment included on this four-disc set, the Stephenses were also the first couple to sleep in one bed! And Samantha's mother, Endora (the venerable Agnes Morehead), and father, Maurice (Maurice Evans, most popularly known as Dr. Zaius in the original Planet of the Apes, were TV's first separated couple. Surely, Darrin did for advertising what Dick Van... More Info about this DVD Actor(s): Elizabeth Montgomery DVD Release Date: Released the 21 June 2005 Usually ships in 24 hours

How do we love Raymond's fourth season? Let us count the classic episodes: "The Tenth Anniversary," in which Debra discovers that Raymond taped over their wedding video with the 1991 Super Bowl; "The Boob Job," in which Debra surprises Raymond with an apparent uplifting enhancement; "Debra's Workout," which leaves her in an amorously aggressive mood; "No Thanks," in which Debra tries a new, "nice" approach to win Marie (Doris Roberts) over; "Debra Makes Something Good," in which Debra's braciole upsets the family balance; and the Emmy-nominated "Bad Moon Rising," in which Raymond desperately tries to deal with Debra's volatile mood swings. Yes, it was a career year for Patricia Heaton, who became the first cast member to be honored with an Emmy (each of the core ensemble was... The Emmy-winning first season was an auspicious beginning. By its second season, the classic theme song "Love is All Around" has been revamped with an even more optimistic outlook: "You're gonna make it after all." In the sophomore season of this instant gold-standard sitcom, the ace writing staff and peerless ensemble begin to flesh out the iconic characters. Gruff Lou Grant (Ed Asner, enjoying his second Emmy-winning season) reveals his more loveable side when he discovers his son-in-law out with another woman in "The Six-and-a-Half-Year Itch." Vain Ted Baxter (Ted Knight) becomes a more sympathetic character in "Cover Boy," featuring the hilariously preening Jack Cassidy as Ted's competitive brother, and "And Now, Sitting in for Ted Baxter," in which a substitute anchor earns higher...
