Review(s): DVD Rawhide - The Complete First Season
Great Family Viewing.
I bought Rawhide Season 1 off of Amazon a few months ago. All four of my boys love it! Its nice watching a program without all the junk. It even keeps the two year olds' attention! Looking forward to more seasons.
Rawhide- The Complete First Season
Excellent, once again took me back to my childhood.
Rawhide: The First Season
This certainly has to be one of the better, more realistic TV Westerns especially with regard to costumes. The acting and story lines have stood the test of time well. Looking forward to more seasons of Rawhide becoming available on DVD.
WHEN I WAS A CHILD MY DADDY USED TO WATCH DANIEL BOONE. WE HAD TO GO TO BED EARLY BECAUSE IT WAS SHOWN ON A SCHOOL NIGHT, BUT WE WOULD LISTEN TO THE THEME SONG. WHEN IT SWITCHED TO FRIDAY NIGHT WE GOT TO STAY UP AND WATCH WITH MY DAD, AND IT IS STILL A TIME I REMEMBER WATCHING SOMETHING WITH MY DAD. NOW I GET TO SEE THE EPISODES I MISSED, AND I'M VERY THANKFUL FOR THAT.WE MISSED WATCHING THIS PROGRAM WITH OUR CHILDREN BECAUSE IT WAS NOT SHOWN ON TV, AND VCRS WERE NOT CREATED YET. EVEN IF THEY WERE, IT WAS STILL NOT SHOWN ON TV. NOW, NOT ONLY CAN I WATCH THEM, BUT MY GROWN UP CHILDREN CAN TOO. LIBERATION DID A GREAT JOB IN RESTORING THESE SHOWS, AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE REST TO COME OUT. I HAVE SEASON TWO, AND WAITING FOR THE REST TO COME AVAILABLE. THANKS FOR BRINGING THIS SHOW BACK TO... CBS had an instant hit on their hands when The Wild Wild West made its network debut on September 17, 1965. While many of the popular TV Westerns were running out of steam, series creator Michael Garrison ripped a page from the Ian Fleming/Sean Connery playbook and conceived The Wild Wild West as a "James Bond Western," energizing the genre by combining a traditional Western setting (primarily the San Francisco region in the 1870s) with the accoutrements of the spy genre. It was a foolproof formula, further refined by producer Fred Frieberger (who later produced the third and final season of Star Trek), and TWWW held its popular time-slot (7:30-8:30 on Friday nights) for its entire four-season run. Smart casting proved to be another source of audience appeal:... More Info about this DVD Director(s): Gunnar Hellström - Charles R. Rondeau - Larry Peerce - Richard Donner - Lee H. I have four boys between the ages of 11 and 2. I ordered seasons 1 & 2 and they love it. Every night we turn Daniel Boone on before bedtime and we don't have to worry about our children seeing anything other than a good wholesome show. I hope they put out the next 4 seasons! No collection of classic TV Westerns is complete without Cheyenne, the trailblazing 1955 series that premiered within weeks of Gunsmoke. The strapping Clint Walker stars as Cheyenne Bodie, the iconic role that earned him his place in the Hall of Great Western Performers at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Cheyenne is a classic Western hero in the drifter tradition, accepting jobs ranging from frontier scout to trail boss. In this first season, he is accompanied at times by sidekick Smitty (L.Q. Jones). "It takes about a minute to know a man," one character remarks during the course of Cheyenne's first season. But we size up Cheyenne in an instant. He is a man of honor, straight shooting and plainspoken. In one episode, he declines an... More Info about this DVD Director(s): Herbert L.
