CAINE IS STILL ABLE
This fourth season of the flashiest of the CSI franchises is packed with a lot of personal dilemmas squeezed in with the usual vicious crimes. David Caruso's cool Horatio has to deal with the return of serial killer Walter Resden; a romance with Eric's cancer-stricken sister; and the possible closedown of his lab. Emily Procter's lovely Caleigh finds herself discovering a few things about her Federal agent boyfriend and dealing with an incompetent replacement (Joshua Leonard) in the firearms division; Adam Rodriguez's Eric is ridden with financial problems, his ill sister and possible drug charges; Khandi Alexander's stoic coroner Alexx finds herself in the middle of the murder of a known pedophile, and possibly losing her job because she's doctored Ryan on the sly; and Jonathan Togo's Ryan finds himself injured in a confrontation with a killer and possibly losing his eyesight. Whew! It's all done in typical CSI fashion and I am a big fan of these shows, so I loved it. The crimes are all fascinating and the technical aspects right up there. If you like CSI MIAMI, you'll love this great season.

CSI Las Vegas is the show that yields the true goods and its two spin-offs have not even come close to mirroring the quality of this stellar show. Season 5 was a good season (oh, heck... all of them were great...) but Season 6 was the one with the stories that seemed to affect our favorite CSI's more than before. Nick is still recovering from his tramatic expierience being burried alive and nearly eatedn alive by bugs and throughout the first half of this season, you see the effects it all has on him. His ordeal gets tied up midaway in "Daddy's Little Girl" which also features an intriguing investigation of a young woman who seems to have really bad luck with men... as in they either die or flee...

The series' sophomore season comprises a lot of surprises and twists for some of the show's regular cast members, and includes some intricate plots as well. Crimes include a murder in Grand Central Station; an apparent homicide in the zoo; karate killling corporate execs; the return of Aiden's elusive rapist; Aiden's exit from the series; a twist in Stella's love life with Frank; Danny's gangster brother's brutal beating; and a bomb that puts Flack's life in danger.
Gary Sinise, Melina Karakanedes, Carmine Giovinazzo, newcomer Anna Belknap, Hill Hunter, Eddie Cahill, Robert Joy and A.J. Buckley all turn in competent performances and even though the music for this season was more annoying than beneficial and even though the forensic scenarios a little too long, CSI NY remains a... Yeah, I could have said "hinky" and that fits, too. NCIS matches excellent, realistic forensics with a gritty police drama. The show is thoroughly enjoyable in the first run and worth buying as a DVD to enjoy again. More Info about this DVD DVD Release Date: Released the 14 November 2006 Usually ships in 24 hours

CRIMINAL MINDS is a very good police procedural show which follows a team of FBI profilers who "get into the heads" of the nefarious villians. The first season has some pretty intense segments focusing on serial killers, kidnappers, arsonists and all kinds of assorted baddies.
The cast is top notch: Mandy Patinkin returns to tv after CHICAGO HOPE to play the post-traumatic stressed head of the team. Patinkin has a way with his serious moments, as well as his lighthearted ones. Thomas Gibson plays Aaron Hotchner, the father to be who has a cool demeanor and a no-nonsense attitude. Gibson is a little too monotonous but I'm not sure if it's his fault or the way his character has been written. Lola Glaudini is the token female agent, her expertise being sex crimes--she has a... "It's logic. It's rationality. It's using your mind to solve the biggest mysteries we know."
If you're interested in this box-set, you've probably already seen the show, so I'll just summarize briefly. In "Numb3rs," the character Charlie Eppes (played David Krumholtz) helps his FBI agent brother Don Eppes (Rob Morrow) to solve cases. He's a professor at a university and a mathematical genius. He's also assisted by his good friend and colleague, Larry Fleinhardt.
In this second season, some fun new things come into the mix. The characters of Megan and Colby join the mix. They make wonderful additions to the show. The opening intro has been changed to be more exciting and interesting, which hints at changes in the show. The cast is really getting into its...
